The Code Generation team focuses on developing AI-driven tools that modernize outdated applications, enhancing their scalability and reducing operational expenses. As a member of this team, you will play a key role in shaping innovative solutions that transition legacy systems to microservices architectures utilizing MongoDB.

What you'll do

• Lead the design and optimization of our code transformation processes and tools, ensuring they are efficient and reliable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and AI researchers, to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development and operations, with a strong history of delivering high-performance and architecturally sound systems in dynamic environments.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with tools and methodologies for code analysis, refactoring, and automated testing.
• Experience in designing and implementing complex software systems while working effectively with engineers of varying experience levels.
• Knowledge of integrating Generative AI into large-scale systems, with a clear understanding of its appropriate applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions and collaboration.
• Proven ability to lead the design and development of workflows for AI model integration and output processing.
• Excellent project and time management skills, with the capability to assess project complexity and costs realistically.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and curiosity about building AI capabilities.

Success Measures

• Familiarize yourself with our architecture and the challenges faced by customers in modernizing legacy applications.
• Establish yourself as a technical leader within the team, influencing technical decisions.
• Begin working with product counterparts and the Code Generation team to strategize on deliverables.
• Successfully guide the team in delivering a prototype or initial version of a significant feature for code transformation.
• Contribute to defining and scoping roadmaps for upcoming code generation projects.
• Create a consistent execution rhythm and serve as a key stakeholder in guiding technical design reviews.
• Be recognized as the technical expert in the code generation domain.
• Deliver a stable, production-ready code transformation workflow that alleviates the modernization challenges for our Field Engineering and Delivery teams.
• Play an essential role in recruiting, interviewing, and mentoring new team members.

MongoDB's base salary range for this position in Canada is: $159,000 - $221,000 CAD. Compensation is determined based on various factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. This salary is part of a comprehensive benefits package that may include equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, fully paid parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with employer matching, mental health support, and health, dental, and vision benefits.
