About the role
We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our team as an Account Executive focused on growth. This position is dedicated to developing and implementing a sales strategy within a designated territory, driving revenue growth and acquiring new customers. You will own the end-to-end sales cycle for strategic accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for C-level stakeholders and technical decision-makers. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying market opportunities and translating complex technological solutions into clear business outcomes for the enterprise. You will be responsible for building a robust pipeline of high-quality leads and converting them into long-term, strategic partnerships. Success in this position will be measured by your ability to consistently meet and exceed assigned revenue and pipeline targets. You will leverage data and market insights to refine your sales approach and prioritize the most promising growth avenues. This is a pivotal role in scaling our presence in the Zurich market and establishing MongoDB as the leading data platform for enterprise customers.

What you'll do
Identify and qualify high-value sales opportunities within a defined geographic territory, utilizing advanced prospecting techniques to build a robust pipeline.
Target Chief Technology Officers, Engineering Directors, and IT Leaders through strategic outreach, cold calling, and digital engagement methods.
Establish and nurture strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders to uncover growth opportunities and drive account expansion.
Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and the Professional Services team to design tailored demonstrations and address complex technical inquiries.
Work synergistically with enterprise ecosystem partners and channel partners to maximize deal sizes and explore co-selling opportunities.
Participate in sales enablement training initiatives, including a comprehensive Sales Bootcamp and advanced sales methodologies programs.
Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and articulate the unique value proposition of MongoDB databases to technical audiences.
Utilize Customer Relationship Management tools to maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and forecast sales activities effectively.
Engage in consultative selling practices to align MongoDB solutions with the specific business challenges and strategic goals of enterprise clients.
Champion the voice of the customer internally, providing feedback to product and marketing teams regarding market trends and competitive dynamics.
Conduct detailed product demonstrations and proof-of-concept exercises to showcase the capabilities and performance of the MongoDB platform.
Negotiate contract terms and pricing structures to ensure mutually beneficial agreements that support sustainable growth.
Maintain strict adherence to sales pipelines and forecast accuracy, ensuring reliable reporting to senior management.
Pursue continuous learning regarding industry-specific challenges and database technologies to enhance credibility and sales effectiveness.
Drive the adoption of MongoDB across existing accounts by identifying new use cases and expansion verticals.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field sales role with a quota, in a fast-paced and competitive environment, focusing on acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts.
Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets, demonstrating a consistent track record of achieving quarterly and annual goals.
Ability to communicate the business value of complex enterprise technologies to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Experience co-selling with cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, as well as large global system integrators like Accenture and KPMG.
Proficient in building relationships with business champions who can influence buying decisions and advocate for your solutions.
Highly driven and competitive, with a strong desire for success and a relentless focus on revenue generation.
Must reside within the assigned territory and be willing to travel regionally to meet with clients and attend company events.
Demonstrated experience in selling software-as-a-service (SaaS) or platform solutions to enterprise organizations.
Strong understanding of the sales cycle for long-enterprise sales, including stakeholder mapping and executive sponsorship development.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English, with additional language skills being a significant advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic sales environment.
Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in all sales practices and customer interactions.
Willingness to participate in after-hours or weekend meetings to accommodate key stakeholders in different time zones.
Adherence to MongoDB's code of conduct and compliance policies regarding data privacy and security.

Interest in advancing a career in the software sector, particularly in databases, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the industry.
Previous training in sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, SPIN, or Challenger Sales, indicating a structured approach to complex selling.
Familiarity with databases, development, and cloud-native infrastructure is a plus, allowing for more effective technical discussions.
Experience in a multinational corporation operating in the Swiss market, understanding the local business culture and regulatory environment.
Background in the financial services or technology sectors, where high-value procurement decisions are common.

This role operates under a hybrid working model, requiring a combination of remote work and presence at the Zurich office.
