Within the dynamic ecosystem of MongoDB, the Account Development Representative serves as a critical bridge between the organization's innovative data platform and a diverse array of potential customers. This role owns the responsibility of generating high-quality interest and demand for MongoDB's portfolio through strategic engagement and thorough market research. The hire will work in close partnership with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that messaging is sharp, targeted, and resonates with the specific needs of the designated territory. They own the end-to-end process of transforming initial awareness into meaningful engagement that sales professionals can act upon. A core part of this position involves qualifying businesses to determine their fit and readiness, ensuring that the sales team focuses efforts on the most promising opportunities. The representative is expected to be the primary point of initial contact, shaping the first impression of MongoDB's brand and value proposition. Success in this role is defined by the ability to build trust and rapport with IT professionals and business stakeholders before a sale is ever made. Ultimately, the hire drives the top of the funnel, ensuring a consistent and robust pipeline of opportunities that fuels the long-term growth of the company.

What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth research to pinpoint organizations and segments where MongoDB's technology provides a distinct competitive advantage.
- Execute multi-channel outreach initiatives, combining digital and traditional methods to introduce the MongoDB brand to new audiences.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to refine the identification of ideal customer profiles and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Engage directly with technical teams and infrastructure leaders to discuss their current data challenges and future scalability needs.
- Document every interaction and insight meticulously within the Salesforce platform to maintain a clear and actionable overview of each relationship.
- Coordinate closely with Sales Executives to arrange strategic meetings where complex value propositions can be presented effectively.
- Nurture leads through the entire buyer's journey, providing relevant information and resources that move opportunities forward.
- Relentlessly pursue and exceed defined performance metrics for pipeline generation and meeting scheduling activities.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to provide feedback from the field, helping to optimize campaigns and improve targeting over time.
- Invest in continuous learning to deepen expertise in the data management sector and apply that knowledge to conversations with prospects.
Requirements
- Demonstrated history of surpassing sales quotas and performance targets in previous roles.
- Mastery of verbal and written communication, capable of adapting tone and content for executive versus technical audiences.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the discipline to manage a high volume of tasks without direct supervision.
- Thrives in fast-moving, agile environments where priorities shift rapidly and adaptability is essential.
- Possesses a genuine curiosity for technology and a quick aptitude for understanding complex software architectures.
- Proven ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism during initial interactions with strangers.

- The base salary for this position in the U.S. begins at $50,003.20.
