EMR Platform Owner

About the role

The is responsible for owning the long-term strategy, evolution, and governance of the enterprise EMR and clinical systems ecosystem. This role leads the modernization initiative while acting as the definitive operational steward of the platform post-implementation. The hire will function as a strategic operator who thinks like a product owner, driving continuous improvement in care delivery through technology, workflows, automation, and thoughtful operational design. They will own the future-state design of clinical operations, scheduling, intake, documentation, billing, and patient engagement across a rapidly scaling multi-site environment. This position requires deep collaboration with leadership, clinical teams, revenue cycle, analytics, and technology to ensure the EMR operates as a scalable, high-performance platform. The role is not an IT administration position but a business-led ownership role focused on aligning technology capabilities with clinical and operational excellence. The successful candidate will establish governance standards and oversee integrations, configurations, and change management to support the organization's mission of delivering compassionate, results-driven vein care.

What you'll do

Own the long-term roadmap and strategic direction for the enterprise EMR and clinical systems ecosystem across all Metro Vein Centers locations.

Define, implement, and continuously improve future-state workflows for clinical operations, scheduling, intake, documentation, billing, and patient engagement.

Establish and enforce governance standards for EMR workflows, configurations, integrations, and operational change management to ensure consistency and compliance.

Evaluate platform capabilities, third-party integrations, and optimization opportunities to support scalable, high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Serve as the primary business owner for the EMR and related operational systems, aligning technology decisions with clinical, financial, and strategic objectives.

Lead the organization's EMR transition initiative, overseeing vendor selection, implementation planning, migration readiness, workflow alignment, testing, adoption, and post-go-live stabilization.

Partner cross-functionally with operations, clinical teams, revenue cycle, analytics, and technology to coordinate requirements, resolve issues, and drive end-to-end process alignment.

Collaborate with external consultants, implementation vendors, and EMR partners to ensure successful implementation, knowledge transfer, and long-term support.

Drive adoption and optimization efforts, including provider training, workflow refinement, data migration, and legacy system wind-down activities such as data archival and vendor communication.

Coordinate revenue cycle workflows, including authorizations, coding, billing, denial management, and eligibility, to ensure alignment with EMR capabilities and operational goals.

Identify and implement opportunities to reduce administrative friction, automate manual processes, and improve clinic throughput, documentation efficiency, and operational consistency.

Partner with leadership to design and refine provider workflows, ensuring they support scalability, compliance, and an exceptional patient and provider experience.

Leverage analytics and operational data to monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and guide iterative improvements across the EMR platform.

Act as the central point of accountability for the EMR platform, ensuring continuity of operations, stakeholder alignment, and successful adoption across clinics.

Champion a patient-first, data-informed approach to system optimization, ensuring technology and workflows reflect best practices in vein care delivery.

Requirements

Demonstrate a proven track record of owning and optimizing enterprise EMR platforms or complex clinical systems in healthcare settings.

Possess strong operational and systems thinking skills, with the ability to translate clinical and business requirements into scalable technology and workflow solutions.

Showcase experience leading EMR selection, implementation, and post-go-live optimization initiatives in multi-site healthcare organizations.

Exhibit deep knowledge of clinical workflows, revenue cycle operations, and the interplay between documentation, billing, and patient engagement.

Have a strong background in healthcare technology, systems architecture, and integration patterns relevant to ambulatory care delivery.

Demonstrate expertise in governance, change management, and stakeholder alignment across clinical, technical, and administrative functions.

Bring experience managing cross-functional initiatives with external vendors, consultants, and implementation partners in a regulated environment.

Possess excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority in a decentralized organization.

Nice to have

Prior experience in a multi-site vein care or specialty healthcare delivery environment.

Familiarity with ambulatory care workflows specific to procedural specialties and patient-centered scheduling models.

Experience with data migration, archival strategies, and legacy system wind-down in healthcare settings.

Knowledge of healthcare analytics platforms and quality reporting requirements relevant to procedural specialties.
