Merlin Labs seeks an Avionics Integration Engineer to join its mission to deliver full-stack autonomy for aircraft. This role is central to building the non-human pilot that guides any plane from takeoff to touchdown. The position involves designing and verifying the critical interfaces that allow aircraft sensors to communicate with the autonomy stack. Your daily work will involve translating high-level autonomy requirements into physical electrical systems. You will be responsible for creating wiring harness layouts and defining connector strategies that align with strict aircraft electrical architecture rules. Signal validation will be a core duty, ensuring avionics interfaces meet demanding safety and timing standards. You will own the architecture of how sensor data is received, processed, and passed to the central stack. This includes orchestrating complex data pipelines that unify inputs from multiple sensors into a coherent stream.
The role demands close coordination with certification teams to ensure integration practices satisfy airworthiness criteria. You will trace requirements across software and hardware modules to verify that real-world flight tests match the intended specifications. Integration test campaigns for takeoff, cruise, and landing phases will rely on your ability to monitor and support system behavior.
