About the role
We are seeking a strategic and technically skilled Product Manager to join the MeridianLink Consumer product team, responsible for our flagship consumer lending origination platform. In this position, you will oversee a specific segment of the consumer lending experience, collaborating closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to implement impactful improvements for financial institutions and borrowers. The role involves contributing to team strategy while executing within your domain, working on a complex, integrated platform with a broad customer base.

What you'll do
- Own the product roadmap for your designated area within MeridianLink Consumer, guiding discovery, delivery, and ongoing iteration.
- Conduct continuous discovery activities, including customer interviews, usage analytics, and collaboration with financial institution partners to identify high-value problems.
- Write clear and well-structured product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories to enable engineering teams to build confidently.
- Lead agile ceremonies and maintain a prioritized backlog aligned with team objectives and key results.
- Define, track, and analyze product KPIs to inform prioritization decisions and demonstrate business impact.
- Collaborate with fellow product managers to ensure consistency across product areas and alignment on platform-level strategies.
- Partner with engineering, UX, sales, customer success, and compliance teams to facilitate alignment and resolve delivery blockers.
- Act as the domain expert, representing customer needs internally and translating insights into actionable requirements.
- Contribute to broader team strategy discussions and help shape the overall Consumer product roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to integrate modern capabilities such as AI/ML-assisted decisioning, automation, and API extensibility into your product area.
- Stay informed on trends in consumer lending, fintech competition, and regulatory changes (CFPB, TILA, ECOA, fair lending).
- Promote user-centric UX and API-first design principles to keep MeridianLink Consumer competitive with emerging fintech challengers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant product management experience.
- Proven experience managing a product area from discovery through delivery and iteration.
- Experience with API-integrated software products involving multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and modern product discovery practices.
- Analytical skills, with comfort using data and analytics tools to guide decisions and measure success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex topics and aligning diverse stakeholders.
- Deep customer empathy, demonstrated through understanding user needs and translating insights into product improvements.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Nice to have
- Experience in consumer lending, loan origination systems, or financial institution software.
- Familiarity with API and platform extensibility, understanding developer needs and platform value.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications within product contexts, with an understanding of where automation adds value.
- Experience working with or selling to banks, credit unions, or other regulated financial entities.
- Knowledge of consumer lending regulations such as TILA, ECOA, fair lending laws, and CFPB guidelines.
