About the role
You will own the strategic direction and execution of MeridianLink Collect as a core product line responsibility. This role requires you to drive corporate strategy while owning product-level P&Ls and establishing operating rhythms for the team. You will act as the critical bridge between market demands and engineering execution, ensuring that business requirements translate into viable product solutions. Internally, you will advocate for the product vision while leading the product team to make informed, data-backed business decisions. Your work will directly influence how financial institutions manage their collections and recovery performance.

What you'll do
- Discover and define the future state of MeridianLink Collect by owning the end-to-end product roadmap for our cloud-based collections and recovery platform.
- Conduct continuous discovery with collections managers, VPs of Collections, collectors, and compliance officers at financial institution partners through interviews, usage analytics, and performance data.
- Author clear, well-reasoned Product Requirements Documents and user stories that address the full delinquency lifecycle from early-stage outreach through post-charge-off recovery.
- Drive agile delivery ceremonies and maintain a healthy, well-prioritized backlog that balances new capabilities with platform health and security requirements.
- Define and monitor critical product KPIs including recovery rate, cost-per-recovered-dollar, roll rate, cure rate by stage, right-party contact rate, collector productivity, and charge-off avoidance.
- Partner with Engineering, UX, Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, and Compliance to remove blockers and ensure successful delivery of product initiatives.
- Serve as the definitive collections domain expert, translating collector workflow realities into clear requirements for cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success on positioning, enablement, and proof points for product areas you own.
- Contribute to team-level strategy discussions regarding how Collect integrates with other products in the consumer lending portfolio.
- Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Security to convert evolving regulatory guidance into configurable platform controls.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to determine genuine improvements in recovery outcomes versus added cost, risk, or complexity.
- Own product thinking across a broad integration surface including core banking platforms and third-party vendors for payments, skip tracing, e-signature, repossession, credit bureaus, and print/mail services.
- Monitor consumer collections trends, delinquency dynamics for community financial institutions, competitive movements, and regulatory developments affecting collections practice.
- Translate regulatory requirements into product features that make the compliant path the default path for financial institution clients.
- Balance innovation opportunities with practical implementation considerations to maintain platform stability and security.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree and possess 2+ years of relevant product management experience in a similar domain.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of owning a product area end-to-end, including discovery, definition, delivery, and iteration phases.
- Bring experience managing API-integrated software products while coordinating with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Show strong command of agile methodologies and modern product discovery practices such as Jobs-to-Be-Done and continuous discovery frameworks.
- Maintain an analytical mindset, comfort using data and product analytics tools to drive decisions and measure business outcomes.
- Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity for diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrate deep customer empathy through investing real time understanding users and translating insights into shipped improvements.
- Comfort operating in regulated product domains where design decisions can create compliance exposure for financial institution clients.
- Willingness to work within US remote arrangements while potentially traveling to client sites when necessary.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances or background checks as required for US-based positions.
- Understanding that product decisions in collections impact regulatory examination outcomes for clients.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information with appropriate security protocols.
- Readiness to engage with evolving regulations and ensure product implementations meet compliance standards.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience taking a product, module, or major capability from initial concept to live revenue-generating offering.
- Direct collections, recovery, loss mitigation, or default servicing domain experience with queue-driven collector workflows.
- Working knowledge of collections regulatory stack including FDCPA, Regulation F, TCPA, SCRA, FCRA, UDAAP, and CFPB supervisory expectations.
- Familiarity with core banking platforms and common integrations in the financial services technology landscape.
- Experience with collections-specific software vendors and industry-specific best practices.
- Understanding of skip tracing technologies and their application in delinquency management.
- Knowledge of e-signature and digital consent management solutions in financial services contexts.
- Awareness of print/mail operations integration requirements for collections workflows.
- Experience with change management practices when introducing new product capabilities to enterprise clients.
Practical notes
This is a full-time US Remote position. The role may require travel to client facilities or industry conferences as business needs dictate.
