About the role
As a , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our production processes. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the setup and changeover of tooling in our manufacturing equipment, ensuring that production runs smoothly and meets quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of mechanical systems, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly. You will work closely with other team members to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

What you'll do
- Perform setup and changeover of tools and dies in various production machines, ensuring minimal downtime during transitions.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on tooling and machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and engineers to develop efficient changeover processes and improve production workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during production, utilizing your technical expertise to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling changes, maintenance activities, and production output to support quality assurance efforts.
- Train and mentor junior staff on proper tool handling, setup procedures, and safety protocols to foster a knowledgeable team environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency and reducing waste.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tool change processes.
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure that all products meet established specifications and standards.
- Support the procurement of new tools and equipment by providing input on specifications and performance requirements.
- Engage in regular team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool Change Setter/Fitter or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of tooling, dies, and production machinery.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery and other automated production equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of work.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to meet production demands.
- A valid driving license may be required for travel between sites or to suppliers.
Nice to have
- Certification in mechanical engineering or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Previous involvement in training or mentoring roles within a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies.
