What you'll do

• Design and develop blow molding processes for new and existing products, ensuring they meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Conduct thorough analyses of current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and production, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
• Monitor and evaluate production performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to blow molding machinery and processes, minimizing downtime and production delays.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, procedures, and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Train and mentor production staff on best practices and new technologies related to blow molding operations.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in blow molding technology to ensure Bamboohr remains competitive in the market.
• Participate in the development of cost estimates for new projects, providing technical insights to support budgeting and resource allocation.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate new materials and equipment that can enhance production capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in blow molding engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of blow molding processes, materials, and machinery.
• Proven experience with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools for design and analysis.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
• Familiarity with quality control standards and practices in manufacturing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards in the plastics industry.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Previous experience in a leadership role or project management.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance techniques.
• Experience with ERP systems for production planning and inventory management.
