What you'll do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new machinery tailored to specific manufacturing needs.
- Assemble and test machinery components, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the assembly process, applying your problem-solving skills to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Document the assembly process and create detailed reports on machine performance and any modifications made.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine efficiency and reduce production costs.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices in machine assembly and maintenance.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate innovative solutions into our machinery.
- Work closely with suppliers to source high-quality components and materials for machine assembly.
- Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Assist in the development of safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during machine assembly.
- Provide technical support to production teams, addressing any machinery-related issues that arise during operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in machine assembly or a similar engineering role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for designing and modifying machine components.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to machinery and manufacturing processes.
Nice to have
- Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing settings.
- Certification in Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience in a similar industry, such as automotive or consumer goods manufacturing.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Additional certifications in mechanical or electrical engineering.

- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and modeling.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating machine performance and identifying areas for improvement.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
