Product Engineer

About the role

You will own the core infrastructure that transforms how human expertise is sourced, validated, and integrated with frontier AI systems. In this role, you will design the services that power expert assessment and candidate evaluation on the platform. You will build the pipelines that blend human judgment with machine scoring in a reliable and scalable way. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of features that touch experts and evaluators. You will work closely with product and research to translate complex requirements into robust production systems. You will leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to iterate quickly and maintain high standards of quality. Your work will directly influence the quality and efficiency of the talent network that powers our AI models.

What you'll do

• Architect and deploy backend services and APIs that form the foundation of our assessment and matching platform.
• Manage the full product lifecycle for new features, from initial technical design and scoping through implementation, testing, and production release.
• Create and maintain evaluation pipelines that combine human judgment with AI-driven scoring to generate reliable insights.
• Develop user-facing interfaces and experiences for both candidates and experts using modern frontend technologies.
• Collaborate closely with AI, Data Science, and Product teams to move research experiments and prototypes into production-grade services.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Codex to maintain high development velocity and code quality.
• Monitor the reliability, performance, and scalability of our assessment infrastructure to ensure a seamless experience for users.
• Implement observability and logging strategies to gain insight into system behavior and quickly identify issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to team standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the technical direction of the services you are building.
• Optimize database queries and system architecture to support fast and reliable evaluation workflows.
• Support the deployment and operation of services in cloud environments, ensuring security and compliance.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and implementation plans.
• Continuously iterate on feedback to improve the performance and usability of the systems you own.

Requirements

• Have 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in backend architecture, including data modeling, distributed systems, and relational databases.
• Show the ability to work across the full stack, including React and TypeScript, to deliver complete features.
• Possess a strong grasp of fundamental software engineering skills such as debugging, testing, and performance tuning.
• Have hands-on experience using AI development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex in your workflow.
• Maintain a product-focused mindset with a track record of shipping features that solve real user needs.
• Exhibit ownership and accountability for your work and its impact on the platform and users.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Practical experience building or integrating LLM-based features into production applications.

Practical notes

• Compensation includes a bi-annual performance bonus and a 4-year equity grant.
• Relocation assistance is available up to $15,000.
• A $10,000 proximity bonus is provided for living within 0.5 miles of the office.
