About the role
Melio is actively seeking a Payment Partnerships Manager to spearhead the development and execution of our commercial strategy within the financial services landscape. In this capacity, you will own the end to end lifecycle of key relationships with banks, payment networks, and fintech collaborators to ensure alignment with our broader business objectives. You will act as the primary strategic liaison, safeguarding the integrity and productivity of our money movement infrastructure while pushing the boundaries of product capability. The role requires a proactive mindset to assess competitive positioning and translate market dynamics into tangible partnership opportunities. You will be responsible for maintaining a delicate balance between partner expectations and internal goals, ensuring all collaborations drive mutual value. Success in this position will be defined by your ability to foster trust and deliver consistent, high-impact outcomes across a complex ecosystem. This is a critical leadership position that directly influences the trajectory of our payments infrastructure and market presence.

What you'll do
- Oversee the daily operations and cultivate ongoing relationships with banking institutions, payment processors, and fintech entities to ensure strategic alignment.
- Architect and negotiate partnership agreements that facilitate new product developments and expand our financial ecosystem.
- Conduct in-depth evaluations to identify and assess new business opportunities emerging within the payments and financial services networks.
- Synchronize efforts with internal departments such as Product, Operations, Marketing, and Sales to streamline the onboarding process for new partners.
- Transform complex operational data and transaction metrics into actionable insights, crafting clear narratives that guide strategic decision-making.
- Deliver compelling strategic updates and executive pitches to both internal leadership and external C-level stakeholders to secure buy-in.
- Monitor the competitive payments landscape to identify threats and opportunities, adjusting partnership strategies to maintain market leadership.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators to measure the success of partnerships and demonstrate clear business impact.
- Serve as a cross-functional project manager, coordinating timelines, resources, and communications to ensure seamless execution of joint initiatives.
- Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise during industry events and internal training sessions to elevate our partnership standards.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor degree in Business, Economics, or a related field as the foundational requirement for this position.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in partnership management specifically within the financial services or payments sector.
- Candidates who hold an MBA and have accumulated 3 years of relevant experience meet the eligibility criteria for this role.
- Demonstrate the capability to manage multiple high priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency.
- Exhibit proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret metrics and construct charts that clearly communicate business impact.

Practical notes
- This is a hybrid role requiring employees to work from the New York City office 3 days per week.
- The base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $130,000 per year, supplemented by comprehensive benefits.
