Position Overview

This position is a dedicated part-time opportunity for a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology Assistant within an outpatient clinic setting in Stafford, Texas. In this role, you will own individualized therapy sessions, working directly with children to advance their communication, feeding, and swallowing goals. You will operate as a key member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists to deliver holistic, family-centered care. Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the direct implementation of therapeutic strategies under the guidance of a supervising SLP. This involves executing individualized treatment plans designed to address a range of pediatric needs. You will facilitate activities focused on improving speech articulation, language comprehension and expression, and social communication abilities. A significant portion of your work will center on feeding and swallowing exercises, ensuring children develop safe and effective eating habits.

A critical function of this role is data-driven decision making. You will track and document client response data meticulously during each session. This information is used to guide clinical adjustments and measure progress toward established goals. You will translate complex clinical findings into clear updates for the supervising SLP, ensuring continuity of care. Equally important, you will act as a coach for families, providing them with practical home program plans and strategies to reinforce therapeutic gains and ensure carryover into daily life.

You will also play a vital role in operational coordination. This includes scheduling and confirming appointments, with a particular focus on securing reliable weekend availability for patients. You will utilize electronic documentation platforms to maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records. The role requires proactive communication regarding patient milestones, concerns, and overall progress to the supervising pathologist.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must hold current certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the state of Texas. Completion of a formally accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program is a mandatory prerequisite. You must also possess a current Texas SLPA license or be eligible for licensure prior to the start date.

Candidates must demonstrate a foundational commitment to pediatric practice, evidenced by at least one year of prior experience or status as a recent graduate. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting effectively with children, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members. You must possess exceptional organizational abilities to manage documentation, scheduling, and compliance requirements efficiently. Reliable personal transportation is required to travel within the designated Stafford area to provide home or community-based services.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly valued. This skill significantly enhances communication with diverse families and helps build stronger therapeutic relationships. Compensation and Schedule

This is a part-time, PRN position offering a competitive hourly rate ranging from $26.00 to $35.00. The schedule is designed to provide flexibility, with opportunities to work weekend, weekday, after-school, and Saturday hours.
