About the role
The Director of Product guides end-to-end ownership of product strategy, vision, and execution for May Mobility's autonomous transit solutions. They lead a cross-functional product team spanning autonomous driving software, application software, data and analytics, and vehicle hardware to ensure cohesive roadmap delivery. The role defines compelling product narratives that connect advanced MPDM technology to tangible community benefits and customer outcomes. This leader is accountable for transforming market insights into differentiated product advantages while rigorously managing the product lifecycle from discovery through launch and optimization. They act as the strategic bridge between engineering, business development, customer success, and data teams to align solutions with evolving urban mobility needs. The Director ensures that every product decision reinforces safety, accessibility, and operational excellence across deployed services.

What you'll do
- Orchestrate product strategy and execution for multiple solution areas by synthesizing market signals, customer feedback, and technology trends.
- Architect and communicate a clear product vision and multi-year roadmap that aligns with May Mobility's mission of safer, greener, and more accessible cities.
- Build and lead a high-performing product management team responsible for autonomous driving systems, software platforms, data analytics, and hardware integration.
- Establish a repeatable, evidence-based product development framework that emphasizes rapid experimentation, learning, and iterative improvement across the product lifecycle.
- Partner closely with engineering, business development, customer success, and analytics teams to translate complex technical constraints into coherent product requirements.
- Conduct rigorous pricing and value analysis to ensure product offerings remain competitive, profitable, and scalable across diverse deployment scenarios.
- Define and track key product metrics and OKRs to measure success, surface insights, and drive data-informed decision making.
- Represent May Mobility to external stakeholders by articulating product positioning, differentiation, and roadmap priorities with clarity and confidence.
- Champion customer-centric research methods, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable product opportunities.
- Oversee prioritization frameworks and governance processes to optimize resource allocation and maintain strategic focus.
- Collaborate with regulatory and public sector partners to ensure product strategies anticipate policy shifts and compliance requirements.
- Support time-sensitive special initiatives that require deep product expertise, cross-team coordination, and executive-level communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, business, or a related discipline is required.
- Advanced degree or MBA is strongly preferred and may be considered an advantage for this role.
- A minimum of ten years of cumulative professional experience in product management, program management, or a closely related role is mandatory.
- At least five years of experience leading and managing a product management team in a technology-intensive environment is required.
- Demonstrated success in defining product strategy, owning roadmaps, and delivering complex products in regulated or safety-critical domains is essential.
- Extensive experience working with autonomous vehicles, mobility platforms, or embedded software systems is a mandatory prerequisite.
- Strong quantitative skills, including the ability to analyze metrics, interpret data sets, and model trade-offs between competing objectives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels including executives, partners, and regulators.
Nice to have
- Experience in public transit, smart city initiatives, or government partnerships is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and policy processes related to autonomous mobility systems.
- Background in data-driven decision making and experimentation platforms within mobility or transportation contexts.
