About the role
May Mobility is on an exciting trajectory of growth and is seeking to enhance its Finance team by adding a Senior Accountant. This role is pivotal in refining financial processes, maximizing the efficiency of our ERP system, and fostering collaboration across various departments. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager, playing a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations.

What you'll do
- Analyze financial accounts to identify inconsistencies and rectify discrepancies, ensuring the precision of financial records.
- Conduct thorough investigations into unique transactions, demonstrating the ability to independently determine the correct accounting treatment.
- Manage month-end closing processes, which include preparing accruals, making adjusting journal entries, and performing account reconciliations, while effectively communicating outcomes to management.
- Collaborate with vendors to facilitate monthly invoicing and assist in the onboarding process for new vendors as required.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to promote seamless cross-departmental collaboration.
- Work alongside supply chain and engineering teams to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and bills of materials related to vehicle production.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and audits, including the development of footnote disclosures and related documentation.
- Utilize knowledge of accounting standards, particularly ASC 606, to ascertain appropriate accounting treatments and present findings to the Accounting Manager.
- Enforce the company's expense policies while working with employees to ensure adherence to these guidelines.
- Propose innovative ideas aimed at reducing costs and improving financial performance.
- Assist in the implementation of new systems and the documentation of internal controls as necessary.
- Provide analytical support, forecasting, reporting, and project assistance to the Accounting Manager and other finance team members.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is essential.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate finance or public accounting is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP is necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills are a must.
- Proficient analytical and data mining abilities are essential.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail is crucial.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to engage diplomatically with team members on sensitive financial matters is important.
- Sound decision-making skills, particularly in a fast-paced work environment, are essential.
Nice to have
- An MBA or Master of Accounting is a plus.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite is advantageous.
- Familiarity with inventory and fixed asset management is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Google Suite is a plus.

Salary Range: $81,000 - $100,000 USD
