What you'll do
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop innovative tire products that meet industry standards and customer expectations.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and project plans, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Conduct tests and experiments to evaluate the performance of tire prototypes, analyzing results to inform design improvements.
- Support the implementation of engineering changes and process improvements, working closely with production teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities, identifying root causes of issues and proposing effective solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of engineering activities, including test results and design modifications, to support compliance and quality assurance efforts.
- Engage in regular meetings with cross-functional teams, providing updates on project progress and collaborating on shared objectives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in tire engineering, contributing insights to enhance product development.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and resource allocation for engineering projects, ensuring efficient use of materials and time.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering standards and procedures, promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Support the training and onboarding of new engineering team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a collaborative environment.
- Participate in safety audits and compliance checks, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements in all engineering activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for product design and development.
- Familiarity with materials testing and analysis techniques, including statistical process control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development, with a willingness to embrace new challenges.
- Knowledge of tire manufacturing processes and industry standards is a plus.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies is advantageous.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in manufacturing.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Experience with simulation software for performance analysis and optimization.
- Strong mathematical skills for data analysis and engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and tools (e.g., ISO 9001).
