VP, Analytics & Data
Job description
About the role
Vice President of Analytics & Data
Mars Men is experiencing exceptional expansion, establishing a $100 million run rate within a short period of eighteen months. Backed by L Catterton, the company aims to dominate the men's health supplement sector. Current operations span direct-to-consumer, retail, and nascent channels, creating a dynamic environment for the next stage of scaling.
To navigate this growth, Mars Men is seeking a Vice President of Analytics & Data. This executive will define the future of measurement and insight generation. The role involves constructing the strategic framework, technological foundation, and team capabilities required for the business. Success in this position demands close collaboration with co-founders and senior leadership. The goal is to establish a single, reliable source of truth for performance and to empower decisions based on evidence rather than instinct.
The Vice President of Analytics & Data will manage the full spectrum of the data lifecycle. This includes business intelligence, high-impact executive reporting, and the underlying data infrastructure. A critical responsibility is the governance, quality, and security of all information assets. The leader will also guide the ethical and effective integration of artificial intelligence across the organization. This is a hands-on position requiring both strategic vision and the ability to manage complex details. The individual must translate intricate data analyses into actionable narratives for commercial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
You will design the intake architecture for all business data. This framework will unify signals from commerce, marketing, and product into structured, analysis-ready datasets. Building and maintaining analytics blueprints is essential. These blueprints will power dashboards, predictive models, and experimentation initiatives across all sales channels.
Establishing clear review rituals and documentation standards is a core duty. You will ensure that leaders at every level interpret performance metrics with consistent context. Orchestrating the execution phase is equally important. This involves connecting analytical insights to activation plans and tracking outcomes over time to measure true impact.
Partnership analytics will be a major focus. You will develop strategies to align incentives with retailers, agencies, and new distribution partners. A significant portion of the role will be dedicated to emerging channels and their unique measurement needs.
Governance in the age of AI is a primary concern. You will establish firm guardrails for all AI initiatives. These guardrails will enforce privacy, access control, and cybersecurity best practices from the outset. Data governance will be another pillar of the position. You will clarify ownership, document lineage, and define quality standards for critical datasets.
Infrastructure strategy falls within this role's scope. You will evaluate and select data platforms, balancing scalability, cost, and usability for future needs. Maintaining a high level of advanced analytical expertise is required. You will personally synthesize complex findings into clear, compelling stories for commercial teams.
Finally, you will champion a culture of continuous learning. The function must evolve alongside new tools, methodologies, and market conditions to remain effective.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must bring a minimum of three years of experience in a similar analytical leadership role. This background should include direct responsibility for business intelligence, executive reporting, and data infrastructure. A deep understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, access management, and cybersecurity fundamentals is non-negotiable.
Mastery of advanced analytics techniques is mandatory. Demonstrated knowledge of responsible AI adoption practices is equally required. The ideal candidate has navigated the distinct environments of DTC, retail, and emerging channels. This experience ensures an understanding of the specific metrics and challenges within each.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with L Catterton portfolio companies is a significant advantage. Familiarity with the specific brand values and operational rhythm of Mars Men will accelerate success.
Tools and Expertise
Proficiency with business intelligence platforms, data infrastructure solutions, and AI-enhanced analytical methods is expected.
