Software Development Engineer II, Maps API
Job description
About the role
Mapbox defines the standard for location-aware enterprises worldwide. Our technology enables organizations to build navigation solutions for pedestrians, freight, and autonomous systems across every continent. Over four million developers select Mapbox for its robust security frameworks and adherence to global privacy standards. Teams use our SDKs and APIs to craft bespoke spatial experiences that exceed user expectations. The Maps API division is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our cartographic products, including the ingestion, processing, and delivery of map content to a global audience. We manage critical infrastructure that handles immense request volumes while maintaining sub-second latency to power the highest-traffic read APIs in our ecosystem. Our work directly empowers designers and analysts to visualize spatial data in innovative ways, and we are actively researching next-generation methods for spatial data visualization.
