Your focus will be on managing a diverse group that specializes in the detection, validation, and dissemination of live road information through large-scale backend services and advanced AI-driven workflows. What you'll do
- Lead a diverse engineering team through all phases of the Incidents product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Oversee daily operations, which include project planning, sprint execution, and managing on-call rotations to maintain service reliability.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and overseeing the recruitment process to build a strong team.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape and define the long-term strategic direction of the business.
- Establish and monitor key operational metrics to guarantee the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Work in partnership with the MapGPT team to implement Feedback Agents that enhance map accuracy and usability.
- Spearhead the creation of automated agents designed for efficient data ingestion, validation, and conflation processes.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure that all engineering efforts are aligned with broader company goals.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and methodologies.
- Ensure that the team adheres to best practices in software development and operational excellence, including incident management and performance monitoring.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms.
- Prepare and present regular updates on team progress and project milestones to senior management and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, specifically managing remote engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams of five or more individuals, driving projects to completion.
- Strong expertise in developing and maintaining scalable web services and data pipelines, particularly within the AWS ecosystem.
- Proven ability to attract, retain, and nurture a diverse group of engineering talent.
- Familiarity with operational best practices, including monitoring systems, performance metrics, and incident response strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
- Willingness to discuss your experiences and perspectives on the use of AI tools in engineering practices during the interview process.

- Experience with machine learning and AI technologies, particularly in the context of navigation and mapping solutions.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools.
