About the role
You will lead the end-to-end revenue recognition process in strict compliance with ASC 606, owning the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for the organization. In this capacity, you will oversee the full close calendar, managing monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting activities including detailed revenue review, journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, and comprehensive reconciliations. You will design and implement scalable order-to-cash workflows, ensuring seamless alignment between technical revenue policies and operational execution while actively seeking automation opportunities. A key part of your role involves partnering with the Technical Revenue Team to interpret complex customer contracts and accurately translate those conclusions into invoicing workflows and revenue recognition schedules within Netsuite ARM. You will work cross-functionally with Deal Desk, Legal, and Sales to guide education on revenue recognition and billing model impacts related to new deals and product offerings. Additionally, you will develop, mentor, and manage a team of revenue accountants, providing ongoing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards. You will be responsible for preparing audit-ready documentation to effectively support external audits and for monitoring internal controls related to revenue, identifying and implementing improvements where necessary. Finally, you will coordinate closely with FP&A to drive revenue forecasting initiatives and perform in-depth variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the end-to-end revenue recognition process in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting close activities, including revenue review, journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, and reconciliations, related to AR, revenue, and commissions.
- Design and implement scalable processes and systems for order-to-cash workflows, ensuring compliance between technical policies and operational processes without introducing unnecessary complexity.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency through automation or systems upgrades, including tools like AI, ERP, and CRM integrations.
- Partner with the Technical Revenue Team to review and interpret complex customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue treatment.
- Ensure technical revenue conclusions are accurately reflected in invoicing workflows and revenue recognition schedules within Netsuite ARM.
- Participate in contract review working cross-functionally with Deal Desk, Legal, and Sales to guide and educate on the impacts of revenue recognition and billing models related to new deals and offerings.
- Develop, manage, and mentor a team of revenue accountants, providing guidance, training and performance feedback.

- Support ad hoc analyses and projects requested by leadership to improve forecasting and financial controls.
- Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of accuracy, transparency, and timeliness for executive reporting.
Requirements
- BS in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA License.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Prior experience with Netsuite, Stripe, and Salesforce preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple tasks at once.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates the ability and willingness to meet business-critical deadlines.

Practical notes
The annual base compensation for this role ranges from $128,350 - $173,650 for most US locations and 5% to 10% higher for US locations with a higher cost of labor. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location.
