What you'll do
- Design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure solutions that support our applications and services.
- Automate deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain and optimize cloud environments, particularly in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring cost-effectiveness and security compliance.
- Develop and maintain configuration management systems using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to ensure consistency across environments.
- Implement security best practices in all stages of the development and deployment processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Document processes, architectures, and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems, addressing incidents and outages as they arise.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Engage in capacity planning and scaling strategies to accommodate growth and increased demand on our services.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our operations and suggesting improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud service providers, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their respective services.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, with experience in setting up and managing pipelines.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and system monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and improving existing processes.
Nice to have
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
- Knowledge of database management and optimization, particularly with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Previous experience in a startup environment or with rapid growth companies.
- Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Kubernetes Administrator.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Linux/Unix system administration.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks relevant to cloud environments.
