About the role
You will own the end to end product strategy and roadmap for the eMobility portfolio, translating complex operational realities into intuitive software and data products that serve riders and entrepreneurs across Kenya and neighbouring markets. You will partner deeply with engineering and analytics teams to design, implement, and continuously iterate on critical customer journeys, internal tooling, and business processes that directly impact acquisition, retention, and profitability in the electric transport sector. You will synthesise direct customer feedback, support insights, and quantitative performance data to prioritise initiatives that balance user experience with commercial viability under constrained environments. You will define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with the mission of making clean, affordable transportation a reality for everyday people across Africa. You will act as the central product authority for cross country collaboration, ensuring alignment of features, compliance, and operational workflows while respecting local market nuances. You will champion data driven decision making, using analytics to validate hypotheses, measure outcomes, and guide the evolution of the mobility product suite over time.

What you'll do
Define and own the end to end product roadmap and user experience for the electric vehicle financing and mobility solutions, ensuring coherence across countries and regulatory contexts.
Translate ambiguous customer problems and business objectives into clear product requirements, success metrics, and iterative delivery plans that engineering teams can execute against.
Partner with analytics engineers to design, validate, and refine internal reporting and data visualisation capabilities, ensuring stakeholders can monitor product performance and make timely decisions.
Synthesise qualitative and quantitative insights by reviewing customer feedback, support interactions, and operational data to uncover pain points and opportunities for improved experiences.
Collaborate closely with commercial stakeholders to align product capabilities with sales, pricing, and go to market strategies across diverse African markets.
Lead discovery and experimentation cycles, framing hypotheses, defining minimum viable products, and interpreting results to guide product evolution in a regulated environment.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with cross functional teams including engineers, analytics engineers, commercial leaders, and customer care to ensure shared understanding and execution.
Champion best practices for IoT devices and remote vehicle control, ensuring product designs account for connectivity constraints, device reliability, and security considerations.
Drive integration strategies between SaaS CRM systems and custom built software, focusing on data quality, workflow automation, and scalable architectures.
Apply agile methodologies to manage priorities, coordinate distributed teams, and deliver incremental value while maintaining alignment with long term strategic goals.
Requirements
Bring 4+ years of product management experience, with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes in complex, data rich environments.
Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills, including the ability to conduct your own complex data analysis without heavy reliance on specialised support.
Show proven ability to solve technical and analytical problems, using structured thinking to break down ambiguity and arrive at actionable solutions.
Work effectively with diverse, distributed teams across multiple countries, navigating different time zones, cultures, and regulatory contexts.
Communicate with clarity and precision, adapting your style for executives, engineers, operations staff, and external partners.
Bring experience working on a backend or API first product, where interface design, reliability, and scalability are critical success factors.
Have experience building and launching B2C products that directly serve end users and impact their daily behaviour and economic outcomes.
Show familiarity with IoT products and remote device control best practices, including over the air updates, telemetry, and fault detection.
Apply experience with SaaS CRM tools and custom software integrations to connect customer data, billing systems, and operational workflows.
Work comfortably within agile methodologies, participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and prioritisation decisions.
Use data driven decision making to define strategy, set hypotheses, and evaluate tradeoffs between user needs, business constraints, and technical feasibility.
Nice to have
Experience in the mobility, transportation, or financial services sectors in Africa or similar emerging markets.
Understanding of asset financing models and how technology supports flexible ownership for low income entrepreneurs.
Exposure to regulated environments and the ability to work with compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure product adherence.
Practical notes
This is primarily a Hybrid role based in Nairobi, Kenya, with moderate work travel expected. Therefore an ideal candidate should either be based in Kenya or be willing to relocate if and when successful.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Kenya without sponsorship, and any international relocation must comply with local immigration regulations and company policies.
The selected candidate should be prepared for occasional travel across counties to engage with partners, observe operations, and gather firsthand insights into customer behaviour and field challenges.
