What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable pricing algorithms that adapt to market conditions and user behavior, ensuring optimal fare calculations.

• Develop and maintain robust APIs that facilitate real-time pricing updates and integrate seamlessly with our existing systems.
• Conduct A/B testing and other experimental methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of pricing models and make data-backed recommendations.
• Work closely with product managers to define pricing features and enhancements that align with business objectives and user needs.
• Monitor and analyze pricing performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement to drive revenue growth.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices, ensuring high-quality software development standards are maintained.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pricing systems, providing timely solutions to maintain service reliability and performance.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscape to inform pricing strategies and maintain Lyft's market leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the engineering team.
• Document technical specifications and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
• Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on pricing or revenue management systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques, including SQL and data visualization software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
