What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable backend systems that support our applications and services, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, creating seamless user experiences.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring they are well-documented and easy to use for other developers.
• Optimize existing backend services for performance, scalability, and security, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in the backend systems, working to resolve them quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance our backend architecture and development processes.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and helping them grow their technical skills and understanding of backend development.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for backend features.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration practices to ensure the quality and reliability of our backend systems.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design of the software, making recommendations for improvements and innovations.
• Participate in agile development processes, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure effective team collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable applications.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience with database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React or Angular to facilitate better collaboration with frontend teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices to streamline deployment processes.
• Understanding of security best practices in software development and data protection.
• Previous experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to challenges.
