What you'll do
- Lead the development and execution of supplier quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough audits of supplier facilities to assess their quality management systems and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to evaluate potential suppliers and assess their capabilities in meeting quality specifications.
- Analyze supplier performance data and trends to identify opportunities for quality enhancements and cost reductions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, providing guidance and support to help them achieve quality objectives.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues related to supplier materials and components.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in supplier quality management to ensure Luminus remains competitive.
- Mentor and train junior quality engineers and staff on quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product development initiatives, ensuring that supplier quality considerations are integrated from the outset.
- Lead initiatives to enhance supplier quality capabilities through training programs and workshops.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to resolve quality issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, tools, and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, ISO 9001, and Lean principles.
- Proven experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments, with a solid understanding of quality standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in quality management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing quality issues.
Nice to have
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or similar credentials.
- Experience in the electronics or semiconductor industry.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to product quality and safety.
- Experience with supplier development and performance improvement initiatives.
