What you'll do

• Design and oversee the implementation of DevOps pipelines and automation frameworks tailored for embedded workflows, which include ECU flashing, cross-compilation, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation processes.
• Develop internal services that facilitate firmware deployment, continuous integration, and comprehensive testing of embedded software, particularly for safety-critical applications.
• Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to create scalable testing environments that cater to real-time embedded platforms and compute modules.
• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for orchestrating distributed test executions across both cloud-based and laboratory resources.
• Integrate automotive-specific standards, such as MISRA compliance, static analysis, traceability, and regression testing, into our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Construct logging, monitoring, and diagnostic tools to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our testing infrastructure.
• Enhance and sustain testing frameworks designed for vehicle-level validation, ECU testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues within the test infrastructure, providing timely resolutions to maintain operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in test automation and infrastructure development.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in automotive technologies and testing methodologies to continuously improve our processes.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall quality of the software by ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in embedded test infrastructure, automation tools, or DevOps practices.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux, including aspects of deployment, debugging, system monitoring, and automation techniques.
• Understanding of cross-compilation processes and the deployment of software to embedded systems.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols, including CAN bus and Automotive Ethernet.
• Experience working with automotive validation environments, HIL/SIL systems, or tools from Vector.
• Proficient in Bash scripting and version control systems, particularly GitLab or Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in maintaining or deploying embedded test automation systems, such as setups for ECU validation or HIL rigs.
• Background in embedded firmware development or familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Exposure to manufacturing testing environments for embedded boards or automotive ECUs, enhancing your understanding of the production process.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile development teams.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Bash.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, ensuring efficient software delivery and integration.
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and optimizing test infrastructure performance.
• Knowledge of automotive industry standards and best practices related to software testing and validation.
