What you'll do
- Partner with multidisciplinary project teams to plan, design, and develop civil engineering solutions for complex projects.
- Contribute to overall project strategy, schedules, and coordination to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Prepare and oversee documentation for schematic design, design development, and construction documents with meticulous attention to detail.
- Support construction administration efforts, including responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) and reviewing submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering technical growth, knowledge transfer, and a collaborative team environment.
- Perform detailed engineering analyses related to grading, drainage, utilities, and site feasibility within project parameters.
- Actively participate in professional organizations and contribute to the advancement of the civil engineering profession.
- Liaise with clients and consultants to resolve design issues and align project goals with performance metrics.
- Ensure all deliverables adhere to industry standards, local regulations, and best practices in sustainable design.
- Take ownership of multiple project tasks, demonstrating initiative and reliability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Possess a minimum of 8+ years of experience across all phases of civil engineering projects, from planning to construction.
- Maintain an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California.
- Demonstrate proficiency in CAD software and Autodesk Civil 3D for design and documentation.
- Exhibit strong technical knowledge of industry-standard engineering software relevant to civil analysis and modeling.
- Show enthusiasm for a multidisciplinary design process and thrive within a collaborative team environment.
- Provide evidence of a demonstrated ability to lead civil design efforts while receiving guidance from Project Managers and Directors.
- Commit to working within the firm's standards for quality, safety, and sustainability on every project.

The position is based in San Jose, California, and may require travel to other studio locations in California and Texas. What We're Looking For
