About the role

This position places you within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-performance architecture and sustainable design within the Education studio. You will act as a critical link between design intent and construction reality, owning the coordination of interior design development from initial concept through final construction. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with architects, engineers, and researchers to ensure cohesive project outcomes. Your contributions will directly influence the quality and accuracy of construction documentation and the efficiency of the integrated design process. What you'll do

• Integrate design concepts within an interdisciplinary framework alongside architects and engineers to ensure project cohesion.
• Administer project timelines and deliverables across all interior design phases, from initial brainstorming sessions to final handover.
• Provide dedicated support to Project Managers and Designers by handling complex interior documentation and administrative tasks.
• Develop and maintain detailed construction drawings and design development documents with a focus on precision and technical accuracy.
• Oversee the production workflow of junior team members, offering guidance and feedback to elevate the quality of their output.
• Administer construction administration documents, including responses to requests for information and coordination of review cycles.
• Conduct in-depth research into construction methods, materials, and product specifications to provide informed recommendations for design decisions.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer by participating in structured mentorship programs that support both your professional growth and the development of junior colleagues.
• Synthesize findings from material and method research to influence sustainable and cost-effective interior solutions.
• Act as a technical resource for the Education studio by maintaining current knowledge of building codes and material applications.
• Coordinate with consultants and other disciplines to resolve design conflicts and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Streamline documentation processes to improve team efficiency and reduce the risk of errors during construction.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience that covers all phases of interior design, including design development and construction administration.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency in Revit, specifically for the creation and management of construction documentation.
• Show a thorough understanding of construction methods, building codes, and the practical application of various materials.
• Ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to address design challenges independently.
• Dedication to creating precise, high-quality construction documentation that adheres to industry standards.
• Capability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines without compromising quality.
• Willingness to adhere to the firm's established processes and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Nice to have

• Possess current CID certification or are actively pursuing CID certification.
• Hold a LEED accreditation that demonstrates a commitment to sustainable design principles.
• Have experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Rhino to support advanced visualization and documentation.
• Bring a background in the California DSA process specifically for education-related projects to streamline regulatory compliance.
