The Interior Design Coordinator serves as a critical connector within LPA's integrated design process, ensuring seamless communication between multidisciplinary teams on high-performance projects. You will own the coordination and accuracy of interior architecture and design documentation from concept through construction. This role is positioned at the intersection of technical precision and collaborative problem-solving, driving quality control across project lifecycles. You will partner closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to uphold the firm's "No Excuses" approach to sustainable design. The position demands a proactive mindset, taking ownership of complex construction documents and production workflows. What you'll do

• Partner with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other disciplines to advance LPA's integrated design process on demanding projects.
• Contribute across the complete project lifecycle, translating conceptual ideas into detailed interior architecture and coordinated construction documents.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Designers to execute interior design assignments that align with sustainability and performance targets.
• Prepare and coordinate design development documents, ensuring rigorous quality, accuracy, and strict adherence to established project standards.
• Lead the production of interior project documentation, providing clear direction and oversight for junior designers to maintain consistency and excellence.
• Review, coordinate, and process construction administration documentation, including responses to RFIs, submittals, and all relevant project correspondence.
• Research and evaluate building products, materials, and construction methods to develop informed design and technical solutions that meet performance criteria.
• Mentor junior designers through day-to-day guidance, fostering a culture of learning while receiving ongoing mentorship from Project Leaders and Managing Directors.
• Support the firm's community-focused mission by contributing to projects that extend beyond commercial work, including educational and civic initiatives.
• Ensure all documentation supports high-performance outcomes, balancing aesthetics, code compliance, and long-term operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Bring a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience spanning all phases of interior architecture and interior design projects.
• Possess active NCIDQ certification or demonstrate that you are actively pursuing this credential.
• Show advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with a demonstrated ability to produce accurate and coordinated models and documentation.
• Exhibit a strong working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, construction materials, detailing techniques, and specification writing.
• Prove the capacity to work independently while simultaneously contributing creative ideas and technically sound solutions throughout design development.
• Deliver a consistent track record of producing high-quality, accurate, and well-coordinated construction documents under varying project conditions.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills to operate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Practical notes

This role is based in the Dallas, TX office and operates as a full_time position. The successful candidate will engage in a collaborative studio culture that may involve occasional cross-studio collaboration with teams in California and Texas. Travel is primarily local to project sites within the Dallas region, with potential for limited regional travel depending on project needs. No visa sponsorship is indicated for this role at this time.
