This Architecture Project Manager role within the Healthcare team is central to delivering that mission. You will own the end-to-end delivery of healthcare projects, ensuring every decision aligns with LPA's commitment to carbon reduction, community-first design, and technical excellence. Projects such as the Hoag Hospital Expansion, Memorial Care Medical Foundation Office Building, and Hoag Orthopedic Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center demonstrate the real-world impact of this work. You will act as a key liaison between clients, builders, governing authorities, and multidisciplinary teams across studios in California and Texas, translating integrated design and planning objectives into built reality.

What you'll do

Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, contributing across all phases and ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, and successful delivery. Lead the achievement of project goals, including integrated design and planning objectives, budget adherence, schedule management, and overall financial performance. Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and work plans throughout all project phases. Oversee contracts, financials, and construction administration with accuracy and accountability. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, builders, governing authorities, stakeholders, and internal team members. Review and guide research into products, systems, and construction methods to support project innovation and quality. Serve as the Architect of Record, providing professional oversight, and signing and stamping project documentation as required. Mentor, coach, and support the professional growth of team members by sharing knowledge, training, and leadership. Align project deliverables with LPA's mission to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable, community-focused design. Collaborate with professionals across California and Texas studios to integrate best practices and achieve outstanding project outcomes.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Possess a minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience managing all phases of architectural projects. Maintain an active architecture license issued in the state of California. Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel for scheduling, budgeting, and data management. Show proven ability to manage project business aspects, including scope, fees, schedules, work plans, and financial performance. Exhibit strong leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary teams and uphold design excellence throughout all project phases. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, construction documentation standards, and regulatory requirements. Commit to the firm's collaborative culture, emphasizing inclusivity, diversity, and shared decision-making.

Nice to have

Bring direct experience with HCAI (OSHPD) regulations and healthcare project requirements. Hold a LEED accreditation to support the firm's sustainability goals. Have familiarity with Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite to assist in design development and documentation.

Practical notes

This role operates full-time during standard business hours, with possible adjustments to meet project demands. Travel may be required between studio locations in California and Texas, as well as to project sites. Employment eligibility will be verified using E-Verify in accordance with company policy. The annual bonus is contingent upon firm and individual performance. Base salary for this position is based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience and/or project complexity. LPA considers internal equity and pay equity when making final offers.
