What you'll do
- Lead and manage electrical construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth operations and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes or unforeseen challenges.
- Train and mentor junior staff and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement on-site.
- Review and approve project plans, specifications, and change orders, ensuring all work aligns with client expectations and industry standards.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to upper management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and solutions.
- Manage project resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and expectations, providing exceptional customer service throughout the project.
- Ensure all safety regulations and company policies are strictly followed, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings to discuss project scope, timelines, and expectations with all stakeholders involved.
- Utilize project management software and tools to track project progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction or a related field, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Ability to travel frequently and work on-site at various project locations, adapting to different environments and conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain any necessary certifications or licenses for the role.
Nice to have
- Experience with renewable energy projects, such as solar or wind, is a plus.
- Familiarity with advanced project management methodologies, such as Agile or Lean.
- Previous experience in a traveling role or managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management in construction projects.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
- Strong understanding of AutoCAD and electrical design software is advantageous.
- Familiarity with safety management systems and practices in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
