Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated Planning/Layout/Design Specialist to join our team in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. What you'll do

• Develop comprehensive layout designs for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with local and national codes.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
• Create detailed schematics and drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all documentation.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather data necessary for design development.
• Review and analyze project specifications to identify potential challenges and propose design modifications as needed.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, such as civil and mechanical engineering, to ensure integrated project designs.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients, incorporating feedback to refine and finalize layouts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance design quality and efficiency.
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and timelines, ensuring that design work aligns with project goals.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any design-related issues that arise on-site.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Document and archive design processes and revisions for future reference and compliance purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design or layout planning, preferably within the construction or electrical contracting industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous design work.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and standards relevant to the industry.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively when addressing design challenges.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and present ideas to clients.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work that meets project specifications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with renewable energy systems or smart grid technologies.
• Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) processes and tools.
• Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is advantageous.
• Previous experience in client-facing roles, enhancing customer relationships and satisfaction.
