Staff Engineer - Fullstack JS/TS

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to lead technical initiatives and build features across our sales engagement and social selling product lines. You will operate within a profitable, bootstrapped environment where your technical decisions directly shape the experience for a global user base. In this capacity, you will own the architecture of critical features and ensure that long-term technical strategy aligns with business objectives. You will collaborate closely with product managers to translate ambiguous requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions. A significant portion of your responsibility will involve mentoring engineering peers to elevate the overall quality and velocity of the team. You will be tasked with resolving high-impact technical problems that affect tens of thousands of users on a daily basis. Success in this role will be measured by the reliability of the systems you build and the autonomy you instill in the surrounding engineering organization. You will be a key driver in maintaining the standards that allow our sales engagement and social selling product lines to function reliably at scale.

What you'll do

• Develop and deploy end-to-end features in collaboration with the product team, ensuring seamless integration across the stack.
• Maintain and improve the codebase through systematic refactoring, rigorous bug resolution, and continuous performance tuning.
• Act as a technical lead on specific initiatives, guiding architecture decisions and establishing delivery standards for the team.
• Mentor other developers through code reviews and collaborative design sessions to improve team output and technical quality.
• Address high-impact technical problems that affect the experience of tens of thousands of daily users across diverse markets.
• Interface directly with the product team to de-risk features before implementation and align on realistic technical timelines.
• Analyze complex requirements and translate them into efficient data models and application logic using modern JavaScript ecosystems.
• Ensure that all implemented features adhere to security best practices and compliance standards relevant to global B2B operations.
• Optimize application performance on both the frontend and backend to deliver fast, reliable experiences to users worldwide.
• Participate in the full software lifecycle, from initial design and prototyping to deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
• Contribute to the long-term technical vision of the platform by evaluating new tools and strategies for scalability and reliability.
• Work asynchronously and proactively communicate progress, blockers, and dependencies to keep stakeholders informed.

Requirements

• Possess 10+ years of professional software engineering experience across diverse projects and technologies.
• Demonstrate 7+ years of hands-on experience working with JavaScript and TypeScript in both frontend and backend environments.
• Show proficiency in Node.js for server-side logic and React for building complex user interfaces.
• Have a solid understanding of MongoDB for data modeling, querying, and optimization in production scenarios.
• Provide a demonstrable history of building and supporting web applications that serve real users in production environments.
• Exhibit the ability to work autonomously, making sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Prove fluency in both French and English for effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain residency within the French timezone, with availability within +/- 2 hours of standard working hours.
• Display a strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable code that can be easily understood by other engineers.
• Show evidence of experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities can shift quickly.
• Bring a mindset focused on debugging complex issues and resolving them efficiently under production pressure.
• Highlight an understanding of software development best practices, including testing, version control, and deployment pipelines.

• Possess a background in B2B SaaS startups, where you have navigated the unique constraints and opportunities of this market.
• Have experience as a self-taught developer or a history of creating personal side projects that demonstrate initiative and technical curiosity.
