Senior Test Automation Engineer/Software Development Engineer in Test
Job description
About the role
At Leapsome, you will own the design and execution of automation strategies that safeguard product quality across the entire platform. You will partner with developers, product managers, and designers to translate complex requirements into robust test plans and automated test suites. Your work will directly ensure that every feature released delivers exceptional reliability and user satisfaction. You will champion a quality-first mindset by integrating testing into the engineering workflow rather than treating it as a final gate. This role gives you ownership over the evolution of our testing infrastructure and the standards that define our release confidence. You will explore and validate the application of AI in testing to improve how we verify intelligent features. You will monitor production behavior to catch regressions before they impact users. Your contributions will shape how the entire team thinks about quality and automation.

- Collaborate with engineers throughout the development lifecycle to identify edge cases and potential pitfalls before they reach production.
- Screen and refine incoming tasks to verify clear requirements and testability early in the product workflow.
- Conduct exploratory testing for complex workflows and perform manual testing during scheduled release cycles to ensure seamless launches.
- Challenge the engineering team to uphold high standards in code, functionality, and user experience to foster a culture of excellence.
- Experiment with AI-driven testing approaches to enhance the speed, coverage, and depth of our QA processes.
- Monitor production systems and implement automated checks to detect regressions and maintain platform reliability.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects by providing testing insights for new platform initiatives and AI-powered features.
- Document QA strategies, findings, and learnings to build a shared knowledge base and scale QA understanding across the team.
- Support scheduled release processes with focused manual testing and verification to reduce risk at launch.
- Analyze test results and collaborate with developers to debug issues, improving both product stability and test reliability.
- Advocate for testability and quality practices during planning sessions to prevent technical debt and ensure smooth delivery.
Requirements
- Share the belief that QA is a core part of engineering and not a separate process, with passion for quality across the entire product lifecycle.
- Have 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, with a strong focus on automation.
- Be proficient in TypeScript and familiar with Page Object Model design patterns.
- Be proficient with automation tools like Playwright or Cypress and have experience designing reusable test frameworks.

- Thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment where priorities shift and enjoy collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and designers.
- Be comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tools to support reliable and repeatable testing.
- Communicate clearly and constructively when documenting issues and collaborating on fixes.
- Take ownership of testing challenges and propose improvements to processes, tools, and quality standards.
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to open source projects related to testing, automation, or developer tooling.
- Familiarity with performance, security, or accessibility testing practices.
- Background in data-driven or behavior-driven testing methodologies.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and containerization for scalable test execution.
- Knowledge of analytics and monitoring tools such as Mixpanel, Sentry, and Datadog for debugging in production.
