Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage inventory levels of automotive parts and accessories, ensuring that stock is maintained at optimal levels to meet customer demand.
- Assist customers in identifying the correct parts for their vehicles, providing expert advice and recommendations based on their specific needs.
- Process incoming shipments of parts and accessories, verifying quantities and inspecting for quality to ensure that all items meet our standards.
- Maintain an organized and clean parts department, ensuring that all items are easily accessible and properly labeled for efficient retrieval.
- Utilize inventory management software to track parts sales, monitor stock levels, and generate reports for management review.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely delivery of parts needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to parts orders, returns, or exchanges in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist in training new staff members on parts department procedures and best practices to ensure a high level of service is maintained.
- Participate in regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy in stock levels and identify any discrepancies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new products to provide customers with the latest information and options available.
- Support marketing efforts by promoting special offers and new arrivals to enhance customer engagement and sales.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve departmental goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in automotive technology or a related field is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a parts department or automotive retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems, with the ability to identify parts based on customer descriptions and vehicle specifications.
- Proficient in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in order processing and inventory management.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating a collaborative approach to achieving goals.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
