What you'll do
- Architect and deliver complex features for consumer and enterprise products while maintaining a high standard of code quality.
- Lead the implementation of major product initiatives in close partnership with designers, product managers, and engineers on other platforms.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, elevating technical practices and consistency across the mobile codebase.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and rigorous testing to validate correctness, performance, and security of shipped software.
- Investigate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tooling, and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations for the team.
- Communicate technical concepts, project status, and risks clearly and effectively to all stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and reliability across a diverse set of real-world device conditions.
- Contribute to the definition and refinement of mobile development standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Ensure all implementations adhere to accessibility guidelines and provide inclusive user experiences.
- Explore and integrate modern networking approaches, including GraphQL, to improve data layer robustness and efficiency.
- Support the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to streamline releases and improve deployment confidence.
- Evaluate legacy Objective-C codebases and plan incremental modernization strategies where appropriate.
- Assess cross-platform opportunities using Kotlin, Java, React Native, Flutter, Ionic, Xamarin, or Cordova to maximize code reuse and impact.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to ensure timely resolution of production issues.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience in a production setting.
- Demonstrate a strong command of fundamental programming and computer science concepts that underpin complex systems.
- Show a thorough understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle of mobile applications, including server-side interactions and data flows.
- Apply advanced knowledge of core mobile principles such as UI implementation, architecture, API integrations, testing, and accessibility.
- Possess extensive experience building real-world applications using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI, or a deep familiarity with both paradigms.
- Articulate well-defined opinions on architectural patterns including MVVM, MVP, and MVC, and when each is appropriate.
- Exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills, given the necessity for close collaboration and frequent communication within a distributed team.
- Maintain a proactive mindset, consistently taking ownership and delivering high-quality results against demanding schedules.
- Display a genuine passion for improving software development workflows, tooling, and engineering culture.
