About the role
You will take ownership of a specific tech & electronics category portfolio with direct commercial impact on Kogan.com's performance. You will act as the commercial driving force behind curating an exciting and relevant product range for customers. You will develop new product initiatives and ensure the assortment aligns with market demand and trends. You will build and nurture strong, strategic supplier partnerships to secure competitive advantages. You will manage full P&L responsibilities within your assigned category to drive profitability. You will leverage advanced data analysis and AI tools to inform every decision on pricing and promotions. You will analyze market movements to identify opportunities and mitigate risks ahead of competitors. You will report directly to the Director of Purchasing and be a key contributor to the Tech & Electronics divisions.

What you'll do
Analyze historical sales data and market trends to identify high-potential product opportunities for category expansion.
Develop and execute category strategies that maximize sales growth, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction across assigned tech segments.
Negotiate and manage supplier agreements to secure optimal terms, lead times, and product specifications for competitive positioning.
Collaborate with Marketing and Merchandising teams to create compelling campaigns and landing page content that drives conversion.
Utilize AI-powered analytics tools to forecast demand, optimize stock levels, and reduce instances of overstock or understock.
Own end-to-end product lifecycle management from initial sourcing and launch to performance review and discontinuation.
Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and new launches to ensure Kogan.com remains highly competitive in the marketplace.
Manage inventory allocation and replenishment planning to meet sales targets while minimizing excess inventory costs.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation.
Prepare detailed performance reports on category metrics to guide strategic decisions and annual planning cycles.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by diversifying the supplier base and establishing contingency plans.
Leverage data insights to set optimal pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability goals.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by testing new product ideas and measuring their impact on key business metrics.
Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders regarding all matters related to the category P&L and growth.
Requirements
You must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field to demonstrate foundational knowledge.
You must possess a strong understanding of eCommerce operations and the tech & electronics product landscape.
You must have proven experience using data and analytics tools to inform purchasing and merchandising decisions.
You must have excellent negotiation and influencing skills to secure favorable supplier terms and conditions.
You must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets to manipulate large datasets and perform analysis.
You must have a solid grasp of P&L management and inventory control principles to drive category profitability.
You must be fluent in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers.
You must be legally authorized to work in Australia without sponsorship, as the role requires immediate commencement.
Nice to have
Experience working within a fast-paced eCommerce environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with AI tools and automation platforms used in purchasing and merchandising is a significant advantage.
Prior experience in the tech & electronics category within a retail or eCommerce setting is preferred.
Experience with supplier relationship management systems and category planning frameworks.

This is a full-time position based in South Melbourne, Victoria, requiring attendance at the office during standard business hours.
