What you'll do

• Conduct thorough security assessments and vulnerability analyses on various systems and applications to identify potential threats and weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security protocols and best practices to safeguard sensitive information and maintain compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with software developers and IT teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Monitor security alerts and incidents, responding promptly to mitigate risks and prevent breaches.
• Research emerging security threats and trends, providing insights and recommendations to enhance our security strategies.
• Create detailed reports on security findings, including actionable recommendations for remediation and improvement.
• Participate in incident response activities, including forensic analysis and post-incident reviews to strengthen future defenses.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on security awareness and best practices, fostering a culture of security within the organization.
• Engage with external security communities and participate in conferences to stay current with the latest developments in the field.
• Assist in the development of security tools and frameworks that can be utilized across the organization.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security policies and procedures, ensuring they remain effective and relevant.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in security research or a related role, with a strong focus on vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, as well as familiarity with scripting languages.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks and standards, including OWASP, NIST, and ISO 27001.
• Experience with security tools such as Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and various vulnerability scanners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively about security challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset and a passion for staying ahead of emerging security threats and technologies.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud security and familiarity with platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of network security protocols and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools, integrating security into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and a hands-on approach.
