What you'll do
Design interfaces between disciplines are coordinated to ensure consistency and alignment. Discipline designs undergo peer review and approval on schedule. Civil solutions incorporate continuous improvement, lessons learned, value engineering, fit-for-purpose considerations, and current technologies. Sign-off is provided for civil works and related deliverables. Inputs for studies and proposals are supplied to support project scoping decisions. Engineering support is delivered to the site team to address field requirements and issues. Revisions to drawings are tracked through mark-ups and back draughting to reflect decisions. Subordinators are managed and mentored where applicable to uphold design quality and timelines.
Requirements
A degree in Civil Engineering is essential for this role. Ten years of experience in design and construction projects is required. A record of completing projects on time, within budget, and with client approval is required. Technical issues related to civil engineering in a mine environment must be understood. Reports and proposals are written clearly to communicate effectively. Reports are reviewed, audits are performed, and technical teams are managed and mentored. Registration with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) is required. Working effectively in a multi-cultural environment is required. Complex technical information is analyzed and understood. Leadership skills are used to guide work through others.
Practical notes
This role is open only to Zambian nationals and follows full-time contract terms. Field-facing positions involve significant travel, including a minimum of one week annually to project sites. Typical interview steps
