Mine design sequencing and scheduling are guided using KoBold's software tools to support engineering analyses and production planning.
Detailed design for Mingomba underground mine is developed to advance project planning and resource definition.
Mine technical and productivity inputs are integrated to align design with operational realities.
Engineering trade-off studies are conducted to evaluate alternatives and optimize project outcomes.
Feedback is provided to geological and geotechnical modeling to refine assumptions and design inputs.
Surface and underground facilities engineering is supported to ensure integrated solutions.
Cross-disciplinary collaboration with engineering teams develops skills and procedures for effective delivery of mining engineering assignments.
Internal technical guidance is offered, and mentorship is provided to junior-level staff to strengthen team capability.
Value engineering opportunities are identified, developed, and implemented to improve project performance.
Service providers are led and managed to ensure specialist technical inputs align with project objectives.
Staff growth and professional development are supported through structured mentoring and guidance.
Additional responsibilities are performed as required to address evolving business needs.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
A minimum of 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience in engineering focused on underground mine planning, design, and scheduling is required.
Experience working with multiple mining consultants in the industry is required.
Familiarity with international mining standards, including NI 43-101 and JORC, is required.
Hands-on experience in early stage project development, managing project teams, and engineering studies through design work, project planning, and management of technical and financial studies is required.
Understanding of the roles and contributions of other technical disciplines is required.
Strong technical writing skills with experience writing technical reports are required.
Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning skills are required.
Proficiency with mine planning, design, and scheduling software packages such as MineScape, MineSight 3D, Vulcan, Surpac, Deswik, Datamine, Gemcom, Mine 2-4D, and EPS is required.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required when conveying complex ideas to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Independent work is required, with the ability to provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members while maintaining strict adherence to QA/QC.
Experience providing critical review of documents and preparing technical deliverables with a high degree of complexity is required.
A proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with KoBold's health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies is required.
Availability for travel to project sites, including the Mingomba project and other KoBold locations, is required.
Flexible scheduling is required to support project-specific needs, which may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Candidates legally authorized to work in Zambia and selected preferred regions are prioritized.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
Field-facing responsibilities may involve significant time at project sites, including at least one week of annual travel.
