This role combines traditional processing and underwriting for bridge loans. The position serves borrowers, agents, and lending partners by ensuring loan completeness and regulatory compliance. Daily work supports the Knock Bridge Loan™ product and the company mission of simplifying homebuying. The hire owns the end-to-end integrity of loan lifecycles from application to funding decision. You will act as the central point of control for documentation, calculations, and risk assessment on bridge transactions. This position demands ownership of process excellence and the judgment to uphold policy without exception. You are responsible for translating complex guidelines into accurate file execution that protects the company and the borrower. Every action you take directly impacts the speed, security, and reliability of Knock's financing solutions.

What you'll do
Internal calculations determine Knock Bridge Loan advance amounts, ensuring estimates align with policy.
Loan files are conditioned accurately from the application and supporting documentation to satisfy completeness before underwriting.
A daily pipeline of loans is managed and processed efficiently to meet company turn times and quality standards.
Company policies, procedures, and industry regulations are understood and followed so files meet compliance and operational needs.
Learning and growth continue as you mentor others and contribute beyond your immediate responsibilities.
Ad-hoc projects are taken on to support the team wherever additional help arises.
Perform detailed reviews of borrower pay stubs, tax documents, bank statements, and credit reports to validate accuracy.
Execute risk-based analysis of debt-to-income ratios, reserves, and property valuation to support sound underwriting decisions.
Maintain strict version control and audit trails for all documentation and calculation adjustments within lending systems.
Coordinate closely with underwriters, agents, and lending partners to resolve conditions and remove file bottlenecks.
Uphold data security and privacy standards when handling sensitive financial information across distributed tools and platforms.
Identify process gaps and propose procedural improvements that enhance control, clarity, and team efficiency.
Provide clear, professional communication to internal stakeholders regarding file status, conditions, and resolution steps.
Support continuous improvement by documenting workflows and sharing best practices across the distributed national team.
Requirements
Successful experience as a Senior Mortgage Loan Processor or Junior Underwriter with a solid understanding of underwriting processes and lending systems.
Strong analytical thinking and decision-making interpret and apply lending guidelines correctly.
Excellent organizational skills manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills include a habit of over-communicating critical details.
Efficiency in managing multiple tasks simultaneously does not compromise accuracy.
