What you'll do
Drive the design and execution of a comprehensive character development curriculum that directly reinforces our five core values and prepares students to navigate their educational journey with integrity.
Lead weekly professional learning communities (PLCs) that are structured to analyze student work, deconstruct academic standards, and collaboratively design high-leverage instructional strategies.
Partner with the School Leader to conduct rigorous, evidence-based talent development cycles, including targeted coaching and feedback, to elevate the instructional practice of all teaching staff.
Architect and oversee a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) that identifies and responds to the diverse academic and socio-emotional needs of every student through data-driven interventions.
Champion the collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data to inform instructional decisions, identify trends, and close opportunity gaps for historically marginalized student groups.
Cultivate and sustain authentic partnerships with families and the broader community, ensuring that communication is transparent, culturally responsive, and centered on student well-being.
Serve as the instructional leader for English Language Arts and Mathematics departments, ensuring vertical alignment and coherence across grade levels.
Model and mentor a culture of relentless optimism and resilience, demonstrating a growth mindset that celebrates effort, learning from mistakes, and continuous self-improvement.
Collaborate with specialized instructional support staff to ensure inclusive practices are implemented effectively within general education classrooms.
Own the operational aspects of the school's strategic plan, monitoring progress on key performance indicators and adjusting tactics to meet ambitious annual goals.
Provide visible, positive leadership in all school spaces, ensuring a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to joy and belonging.
Act as a key member of the school's leadership team, participating in shared decision-making processes that drive school improvement and innovation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating campus-level responses to district initiatives, compliance requirements, and stakeholder inquiries.
Facilitate the implementation of school-wide protocols and routines to ensure an efficient, predictable, and positive school culture.
Requirements
Demonstrate a deep, unwavering commitment to educational equity and the belief that all students can achieve at high levels, regardless of background or circumstance.
Possess a proven track record of leading instruction and managing complex initiatives in a school environment, with a history of improving student outcomes.
Hold a valid California Administrative Services Credential (Preliminary or Clear) or be eligible to obtain the same upon hire.
Have substantial experience in curriculum design, data analysis, and the implementation of multi-tiered support systems within a middle school context.
Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, navigate complex dynamics, and provide courageous, actionable feedback to adults.
Showcase a strong command of instructional leadership practices, including lesson observation, coaching, and the use of data to drive instructional change.
Maintain a growth mindset and resilience in the face of ambiguity, demonstrating a consistent ability to problem-solve under pressure and adapt to evolving priorities.
