This position owns the full project lifecycle for mechanical work based in Phoenix. You will coordinate teams from intake through build, ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. You will communicate clearly between clients and partners during review and ship stages. The role drives projects to successful completion across diverse market segments, including data center expansion. You will maintain alignment between field execution and corporate objectives while upholding the operational integrity of mechanical systems. This role requires proactive oversight to prevent scope drift and ensure that deliverables are met on schedule. You will serve as the central point of contact for mechanical project status and critical decision pathways. Your work will directly influence the reliability and performance of the infrastructure delivered to clients.

What you will do
Orchestrate intake activities for new mechanical projects and translate requirements into actionable plans. Establish detailed workflows that connect design phases to physical build execution on site. Conduct structured reviews of progress, quality, and documentation before major milestones. Oversee the final ship process to ensure handoffs meet client expectations and contractual terms. Forge strategic partnerships with vendors and collaborators to support data center market expansion. Coordinate cross-functional teams during intake to align schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Manage risk assessments throughout the build phase to uphold safety and timeline integrity. Guide commissioning protocols during review to validate system performance and client satisfaction. Utilize scheduling tools to track milestones and ensure adherence to project timelines. Facilitate change control procedures to manage scope adjustments and maintain stakeholder alignment. Monitor budget consumption and forecast future costs to protect project financial health. Implement quality checks at critical stages to verify compliance with specifications and standards. Support the development of project documentation that captures decisions, issues, and resolutions. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing project outcomes and applying lessons learned to future engagements.
Requirements
You must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field. You need at least 3 years of experience managing mechanical construction projects. You must demonstrate strong leadership skills guiding teams through complex installations. You should understand HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems within commercial settings. Compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards is required on every assignment. You must communicate effectively with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. You are responsible for managing budgets, schedules, and forecasts to protect project profitability. You should utilize BIM/VDC tools to support planning and coordination efforts. You must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment. You should possess problem-solving abilities to address issues that arise during project execution. You must be willing to adhere to company policies and procedures without exception. You should maintain a commitment to ethical practices and professional conduct in all interactions. You must be capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and demanding setting. You should have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Kelso Industries builds scientific research vessels for government marine operations. The company name honors the late Dr John Kelso, a scientist with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. This background is reflected in the design of vessels built to support fisheries research and water quality work. The lead vessel is a "Near Shore Fisheries Research Vessel" used for trawls, box core sampling, bottom sampling, and water quality sampling. It was commissioned in 2009 and built by ABCO Industries Lunenburg Shipyard. The vessel was ordered by the Canadian Coast Guard to replace the retiring CCGS Shark and operates from CGS Base Burlington in the Central and Arctic Region. The ship has a maximum speed near 16 knots and a cruising speed near 14 knots. Fuel capacity is about 2,848 litres, with additional water storage of 500 litres. Accommodation includes seating for ten passengers and a crew of three. This configuration supports day trips and focused research campaigns in coastal and nearshore waters.
