About the role
You own the acquisition lifecycle for Kelso Industries, guiding opportunities from first review to signed agreements and smooth handoff to integration teams. You run cross-functional operations for multiple deals, turning complexity into clear progress and ensuring that momentum is maintained from initial review through closing. Your work keeps executives informed with accurate, timely information and supports steady growth across our network of scientific vessel programs. You act as the central coordination point for all transaction activities, aligning stakeholders around shared objectives and removing obstacles that could delay progress. You are responsible for maintaining clarity and consistency in every deal so that risks are visible and decisions are well informed. You partner closely with legal, finance, and operational teams to translate business goals into structured project plans and deliver reliable outcomes. You help safeguard Kelso Industries' reputation for quality and reliability by ensuring that every acquisition is managed with precision and accountability.

What you'll do
Setting acquisition strategy and translating business goals into a concrete project plan for each opportunity across the portfolio.
Coordinating cross-functional due diligence across legal, finance, HR, IT, operations, risk, insurance, payroll, benefits, and other teams to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Organizing diligence materials, maintaining virtual data rooms, and verifying that documentation stays complete, current, and easily accessible.
Tracking diligence requests and open items, then holding internal and external stakeholders accountable for timely delivery and resolution.
Preparing executive dashboards, weekly pipeline reports, and transaction status updates to keep leadership clearly informed of progress and risk.
Coordinating internal and external meetings, diligence calls, management presentations, and closing activities with precision to support smooth execution.
Identifying schedule risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies, then escalating issues early to protect closing timelines and prevent costly delays.
Supporting integration planning and ensuring post-close action items move forward to realization and measurable outcomes.
Improving Kelso Industries M&A processes, templates, playbooks, reporting, and project management tools over time to increase efficiency and consistency.
Partnering with CRM owners to maintain pipeline visibility and support opportunity tracking in Salesforce to ensure data integrity and transparency.
Requirements
You hold a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, project management, or a related field that provides a strong foundation for managing complex transactions.
You bring three to seven years of experience in project management, corporate development, transaction management, consulting, private equity operations, investment banking support, legal operations, or another highly organized cross-functional environment.
You manage numerous concurrent projects with competing deadlines while maintaining strong follow-through and consistent quality in every deliverable.
You use strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to build clear models, forecasts, and presentations that support decision-making and communication.
You create executive-level reports and dashboards that communicate status, risk, and issues effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You communicate clearly in writing and speaking, even when working with senior executives, outside advisors, and specialized technical teams.
You pay strong attention to detail and see tasks through to completion, ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks in complex deals.
You demonstrate reliability and ownership, taking initiative to solve problems and follow up on commitments without needing constant reminders.
Nice to have
Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, or private equity-backed companies in the marine or industrial sectors.
Experience with project management platforms such as Monday.com, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira, or Microsoft Project to track progress and manage workflows.
Familiarity with virtual data rooms and due diligence processes to streamline document review and collaboration.
Experience using a CRM such as Salesforce or other pipeline management systems to maintain accurate opportunity tracking and reporting.
Knowledge of financial statements and basic transaction terminology to support discussions with finance and executive stakeholders.
