What you'll do
- Oversee daily operations on construction sites, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of subcontractors and laborers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and addressing any delays proactively.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards, addressing any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with project managers to prepare and manage budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that projects remain within financial constraints.
- Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers, to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Review and approve project plans, specifications, and change orders, ensuring that all modifications are documented and communicated effectively.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and laborers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to upper management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to project plans.
- Manage the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring that all resources are available when needed to avoid delays.
- Resolve conflicts and issues that arise on-site in a timely manner, maintaining a positive working atmosphere and keeping projects on track.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations pertaining to civil engineering projects.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with a strong understanding of scheduling and budgeting processes.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
