Founders Associate - Engagement Innovation
Job description
Founders Associate - Engagement Innovation at Justplay Gmbh.
About the role
You will work directly with our founders across every product team, constantly looking for ideas that make users want to click, play, win, explore and come back. You are the person who opens an app like TikTok, Temu, MONOPOLY GO!, Duolingo or Whatnot and immediately starts dissecting why it works and how those ideas could be applied somewhere completely different. Some of your ideas may become major features, while others might be a different CTA, a more exciting reward reveal, a new event, better framing of a prize, or an experiment we can ship next week. We care much more about the impact of an idea than its complexity, and you will turn insights into action by pushing concepts through to launch. You will measure what happens, tell the truth about the results, and scale or kill ideas based on evidence. Over time, you will build our collective instinct for engagement, so the entire company gets better at designing addictive and delightful consumer products.
Key facts
What you'll do
Collaborate directly with founders as a thinking partner on what makes JustPlay exciting to play and identify opportunities across the product ecosystem.
Embed within product teams to discover ideas and patterns rather than to manage ongoing roadmaps or own delivery timelines.
Maintain a constant flow of ideas, ranging from single-line copy changes to entirely new mechanics that enhance engagement.
Tear down the world's most engaging consumer apps and translate what works there into concepts that could work within our environment.
Turn abstract ideas into concrete actions by producing sharp one-pagers, quick mocks, and test plans that get movement fast.
Partner with engineering and design to push ideas through to launch, making yourself useful to the teams that are shipping.
Measure the outcomes of experiments, communicate findings honestly, and decide when to scale, pivot, or kill an initiative.
Run small, rapid experiments that build our collective instinct for what drives sustained engagement in consumer products.
Build the engagement intuition of the wider organization by sharing learnings, patterns, and practical frameworks over time.
Look for signals in behavior and structure that indicate why one experience hooks players while another does not.
Champion a culture of experimentation where data informs decisions but bold ideas still have room to emerge.
Requirements
Exceptional consumer instincts: you can tell why something is fun or addictive, not just that it is impressive or popular.
Extremely high agency: you find the problem, propose the answer, and chase it until it is live without waiting to be assigned the work.
A genuine obsession with engagement mechanics in top B2C products such as games, social, commerce, or education.
Evidence that your ideas have shipped and moved a number, no matter how small the idea or how incremental the impact appears.
Fluency with data: you can read an experiment result honestly, including when it kills your favourite hypothesis.
Clear written and verbal communication: you can sell an idea to a founder and an engineer in the same afternoon without losing nuance.
Comfortable being the newest voice in a room of people who know the product better than you and still disagreeing constructively.
You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken, to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
Nice to have
Casual, hyper-casual, or rewarded mobile gaming experience that has shaped your understanding of what keeps players engaged.
A background in LiveOps, including events, seasons, progression, economies, or meta design, that helps you think in terms of long-term engagement.
Hands-on experimentation experience where you have designed and read A/B tests and can interpret results accurately.
Enough technical or design literacy to mock something up yourself rather than only describing the idea in words.
Familiarity with loyalty and rewards mechanics, or the mobile advertising landscape, so you can connect engagement patterns to business realities.
Practical notes
This role is full_time and based in Berlin with a hybrid work model.
Relocation support, including visa assistance, is available for candidates who require it.
You should be fluent in English and capable of communicating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
