This role is focused on leading product marketing efforts within the venture capital sector, which is a rapidly expanding area of our business. You will be responsible for developing messaging, positioning, and enablement strategies that help our sales team close deals with venture capital firms. Your expertise will guide the sales process from initial contact through to final decision, ensuring our offerings are aligned with the needs and priorities of managing partners, CFOs, and other key stakeholders in the VC ecosystem. You will work closely with sales, product, and marketing teams to craft compelling narratives and marketing assets that resonate with VC decision-makers, ultimately driving growth and revenue in this segment. What you'll do
- Develop comprehensive positioning, messaging, and strategic plans tailored specifically to the venture capital market segment, emphasizing our unique value propositions for each buyer persona within VC firms.
- Create detailed playbooks for VC personas, including their roles, priorities, objections, content needs, and decision-making processes throughout the sales cycle. These playbooks will serve as essential tools for sales and marketing teams to engage effectively with VC clients.
- Collaborate closely with sales leadership to produce high-impact collateral such as executive briefs, return on investment (ROI) analyses, competitive battlecards, and customized presentations that address the specific needs and concerns of VC firms.
- Serve as the internal expert on deal dynamics within the venture capital ecosystem, providing strategic guidance and influencing messaging to maximize engagement and success in critical opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth voice-of-customer research through interviews, surveys, and win/loss analyses to gain a deep understanding of VC buyer needs, pain points, and decision-making criteria. Use these insights to refine messaging and develop targeted marketing strategies.
- Manage competitive intelligence efforts for the VC segment, continuously monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Share insights regularly with sales, growth marketing, and product teams to inform strategic decisions and positioning.
- Leverage AI tools, including large language models (LLMs) and automation platforms, for account research, data synthesis, and content generation. These tools will help accelerate the creation of marketing assets and improve efficiency across campaigns.
- Apply human judgment to AI outputs, discerning where automation enhances productivity and where human insight is essential to ensure accuracy, relevance, and strategic alignment.
- Partner with the Demand Generation team to craft and execute campaigns that feature strong, persona-relevant messaging tailored specifically to VC firms. Ensure messaging consistency and resonance across all marketing channels.
- Work closely with product teams to translate complex platform features into clear, compelling value propositions that resonate with VC buyers and address their specific needs and challenges.
- Support Customer Marketing initiatives by gathering, developing, and sharing success stories and case studies from VC clients to demonstrate value and build credibility in the market.
- Continuously monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing strategies and assets, making data-driven adjustments to improve engagement, lead generation, and conversion rates.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working within the venture capital ecosystem, such as at a VC firm, fund administrator, or a company that sells products or services to VCs.
- Demonstrated understanding of how venture capital firms operate, including their key decision-makers, organizational structures, and strategic priorities.
- Proven experience using large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and automation tools to enhance work efficiency and productivity.
- Strong ability to discern when human judgment is necessary in AI-driven processes, ensuring outputs are accurate, relevant, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex market insights into clear, compelling marketing materials and messaging.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment on strategic initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to interpret data from customer interviews, market research, and competitive intelligence to inform marketing strategies.
- Experience in creating sales enablement content, including presentations, battlecards, and case studies, that effectively support the sales process.
- Familiarity with the venture capital landscape, including understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by VC firms and their portfolio companies.

- Experience in B2B product marketing or go-to-market strategy roles, especially those involving sales support and deal influence.
- Knowledge of the broader fintech, SaaS, or technology sectors that serve venture capital firms.

- Understanding of the legal and compliance considerations related to working with financial and investment firms, including familiarity with regulations such as ITAR if applicable.
