What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a geographically distributed team, fostering professional growth and development among individual contributors and team leaders.
- Supervise the daily operations of the lab, ensuring thorough reviews of results, investigating orders, and resolving any issues that arise.
- Analyze order volume trends to effectively plan for staffing and capacity needs, ensuring that the team is well-prepared for fluctuations in demand.
- Uphold and enhance service level agreements (SLAs), quality benchmarks, and productivity metrics to ensure operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Support teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational challenges.
- Continuously refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows to promote consistency and scalability across operations.
- Work alongside the Operations Systems and Tooling team to identify opportunities for automation, aiming to minimize manual interventions and streamline processes.
- Act as the main liaison for vendor relationships and external laboratory partners, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in hiring and managing operations teams, particularly during periods of growth and change.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and empower team members to make independent decisions and enhance their performance.
- Proven track record in leading teams that manage operations with a high volume of exceptions and complexities.
- Experience in developing or enhancing SOPs, quality control frameworks, and operational processes to drive efficiency.
- Background in managing remote teams across different time zones, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Familiarity with vendor management and serving as a point of escalation for customer inquiries and issues.
- Professional experience in healthcare operations, diagnostics, logistics, or similar environments that demand high accuracy and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience in managing distributed operations teams located in the Philippines.
- A background in lab operations, diagnostics, or healthcare logistics that can contribute to our mission.
- Previous experience working with internal systems or tooling teams to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.

- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, particularly with Product and Engineering teams.
Practical notes
- Candidates must reside in the Eastern Standard Time zone to be eligible for this position.
