Jonesanddemille is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with either a Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification to join our dynamic team in Manti, Utah. Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and develop civil engineering plans and specifications for various projects, including roads, bridges, and water systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability and identify potential challenges.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure project designs are practical and achievable within budget and time constraints.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and documentation to support project proposals and funding applications.
- Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to create accurate models and simulations for project visualization and analysis.
- Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards, conducting inspections and addressing any issues that arise.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and project schedules, monitoring progress to ensure timely completion.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate project updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance your engineering knowledge and skills.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance and support to help them develop their professional skills.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops and conferences, to further your expertise in civil engineering.
- Contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions that promote sustainability and environmental stewardship in our projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar applications.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all engineering practices.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with project management and familiarity with project management software.
- Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and green building standards.
- Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment.
- Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes in Utah.
