Technical Project Manager
Job description
About the role
JetBrains operates as a platform company where code drives passion and shapes the future of software development. Since its founding in 2000, the company has pursued the creation of robust and effective developer tools. JetBrains is now evolving from standalone utilities toward a unified, AI-native platform for software development. This evolution positions AI as more than an editor assistant; it becomes an active participant in planning, building, reviewing, and operating software across teams and organizations. This transition introduces challenges that cannot be resolved by individual tools alone, involving governance, security, cost control, observability, and coordination between humans and autonomous agents.
The JetBrains Platform team is responsible for building the foundation that connects developer workflows, team-level collaboration, and organizational control into a single coherent system. This platform is deeply integrated with JetBrains products while being designed to function across teams, products, and environments.
The company seeks an experienced Technical Project Manager to join its Project Management team. In this role, you will ensure the success of complex initiatives that impact all aspects of the JetBrains Platform. You will work at the intersection of product, infrastructure, and engineering domains, collaborating closely with highly experienced teams on platform features and improvements that support JetBrains products.
Role Responsibilities
In this position, you will set the roadmap guardrails for the JetBrains Platform while aligning engineering and product priorities. You will coordinate cross-product teams to ensure the delivery of complex platform capabilities on schedule. Planning sprint flows and refining backlogs will be part of your daily work, translating abstract ideas into actionable work streams.
You will track milestone health, surface blockers early, and adjust plans to maintain momentum for critical initiatives. Improving delivery and collaboration practices will be an ongoing effort, using data and feedback to refine processes continuously. You will own communication with stakeholders, translating technical tradeoffs into clear decisions and commitments.
Partnership with infrastructure teams will be essential to ensure architectural decisions remain scalable and maintainable. You will champion governance and security standards across workflows that touch internal and external users.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must bring 3-5 years of experience guiding projects within product or platform environments. The ability to drive multiple simultaneous initiatives in a fast-paced setting is necessary, along with the skill to coordinate cross-functional efforts across various teams.
Exceptional communication skills are required to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, ranging from engineers to executive audiences. Structured thinking, a strong focus on outcomes, and a "get it done" mindset are essential. Comfort with complex technical systems is mandatory, as is a solid understanding of software development processes from planning through deployment and operations.
Fluency in English is required to enable collaboration across regions and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with platform or infrastructure-heavy products that shape developer workflows is valued. Hands-on development background or deep familiarity with coding practices and tooling is considered a plus. Demonstrated success working with globally distributed teams across time zones and cultures is also preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a strong base salary reflecting skills and experience. Engagement is full-time with hybrid flexibility and options for remote work. Compensation is offered for 3-5 years of experience.
JetBrains provides multiple locations for this role, including Amsterdam, Netherlands; Belgrade, Serbia; Berlin, Germany; Limassol, Cyprus; Madrid, Spain; Munich, Germany; Paphos, Cyprus; Prague, Czech Republic; Warsaw, Poland; and Yerevan, Armenia. Remote work options allow spending up to 30 days per year working from abroad. Additional benefits include extra time off, medical insurance allowance, learning and development opportunities, language classes, meals or lunch allowances, mental health support, sports benefits, and internal company events. Some benefits may vary depending on location.
JetBrains is an equal opportunity employer. The company believes that great ideas can emerge from anyone, anywhere, and strives to maintain an open and inclusive workplace that welcomes all individuals regardless of background, identity, religion, age, accessibility needs, or orientation. The data provided in your job application will be processed in accordance with their privacy policy.
